Reactions have continued to trail a comment by the famous Senegalese-American singer and record producer, Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, better known as Akon, for saying money brings more problems than comfort. Reacting to Akon’s statement, many social media users have urged the singer to give them all he has worked for together with the problem. Recall that the singer, who, in a radio interview, claimed that money does not necessarily buy happiness as it largely depends on what makes one happy, also explained that people who have money do not have time as it makes you lose yourself and takes you away from your family. Talking from his experience, Akon said he had once tasted poverty before he became rich. “Believe me, I know what poverty and success looks like, and from my personal experience, I’m having more problems successfully dealing with all that comes with success than I had when I was poor.” The 49-year-old singer further noted that he was actually happier when he was poor.
